My name is May. Back in Hai Sing, I was known as Cai Mingming. I’m a 1984 graduate of Hai Sing Girls High School. 

I’m currently a Chief Financial Officer for ADK Japan Inc – the third largest marketing advertising agency in Japan and holds the IP rights to Japanese animation of Doraemon, Kumamon , Conan and One Piece cartoons. In my current role, I oversee the financial operations of 14 countries with finance directors from these markets. Having spent three years in Australia, five years in Malaysia, seven years in Hong Kong, and 11 years in China, and three years in Tokyo, I am now back in Singapore. I always carry the tenet of truth and charity wherever I work. Honesty is even more important as I am a professional accountant.

I consciously remind myself to treating people with empathy in whichever country I go to. Hai Sing’s principals, teachers, classmates have demonstrated these values to me. My classmates who are strong in subjects helped the weaker ones - I was struggling in Additional Maths and Chinese language. Our teachers didn’t give up and our principal provided an environment for study and character growth. As such, I make sure I do the same – always providing an open environment for communication with my staff in various countries. I hear their issues, support their decisions and take ownership of their ground issues together with them.
