Job Title Account Director (Digital creative & branding led accounts)

Company ADK Connect, a Japanese advertising and marketing agency

Reports To The Account Director (AD) will report to the Regional Business Director.

Job Overview

The AD is responsible to manage the business for the digital creative and branding led accounts, while managing the team.

The role of this AD will have mainly 2 key responsibilities as a task which are 1. manage the existing client businesses while growing them, and 2. develop new businesses by bring in new clients or pitch opportunities.

The AD will be managing regional accounts, hence s/he will be also working closely with our offices in other overseas markets.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The person will be leading the frontline of the business, and will need the dedication to create and apply an effective growth strategy to meet the budget for the company.

  • S/he must emphasize the need for the organization to record positive changes /transformation (both internal and client) and experience profit growth by doing so.

  • This job is required to be growth-oriented and be dynamic to meet up with the pace of competitors and overtake them towards re-positioning the organization in the digital domain.

  • Builds strategic operational plans and balances the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work.

  • Building a strong Client-Agency Relationship.

  • Takes a lead in clients marketing and advertising strategies.

  • Works to anticipate problems and improve performance of the brand team.

  • Leads the team to provide the utmost level of client service and digital/ATL creative output.

  • Liaises with clients at a senior level, especially closely with the client’s key person (Brand Manager, Marketing Director, etc.)

  • Promotes the expansion of business with existing clients.

  • Drive growth by identifying and acquiring new pipeline leads /accounts that will have a major strategic impact on the long-term success of the company.

  • Complete RFP's and proposals, follow up on submissions and close business. Be aware of organizational growth and the company’s potential to meet the budget.

  • Monitoring Client’s monthly P&L and manage budget and margin forecast planning for all accounts within the team.

  • Ensuring that the Agency generates a healthy Gross Margin for Clients under his/her care.

  • Identifying accounts whose revenue may be shrinking so as to address any ‘at risk’ Clients and reach out to these accounts to ensure they are retained.

  • Escalate issues to Regional Business Director whenever necessary, be it internal or external issue.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Account Director or similar position.

  • Well experienced in holistically managing creative led branding campaigns.

  • Have a strong capability in leading the team for new business pitches.

  • Demonstrate experience in negotiation and meeting client requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities to foster long term relationships with clients.

  • Up to date with latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently.

Job Overview

The AE is responsible for the coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.

The role is to manage clients that has mainly branding led KPI’s.

The scope of work consists in mainly three vertical domains which are 1. branding campaign planning, 2. brand asset development & production, and 3. ATL + digital media operations.

The AE will be working closely with our communications planning, creative / studio production teams, media teams along with 3rd party suppliers when assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Relationship Building with Clients: Account Executives needs to build a good relationship with the client’s marketing executives. They not only need to do just what the client has told them to do, but they also need to go the extra mile by managing the client’s expectations and deliver beyond what is expected to earn the client’s trust.

  • Facilitating Communication Amongst the Project Team:Account Executives need resources to complete the project tasks, which includes skilled and experienced workers. All AEs will be assigned a project team (that consists of media / planning / creative specialists, etc.) to work with by their supervisors and once a team is created, you assign them tasks and deadlines. Monitor and meet regularly, of course, and get status updates to chart their progress, while reallocated resources as needed to avoid blocking team members or overburdening them.

  • Time Management: Time is always ticking towards the project deadline. While communications is key to addresses changes and make sure everyone is doing what they need to do when they need to do it, the Account Executive must also define, schedule and accurately estimate the task duration to develop and maintain a realistic schedule.

  • Budget: Nothing is going to get done without money. Figuring out what the proper funding for the project is, having that get accepted and then keeping the project within or under that figure is often what makes or breaks a project. You can get your stakeholder their deliverables on time, but if that cost more than the budget you created, then the project is a failure. Making an accurate estimate is only the first part. Next, you must monitor the actual spend as compared to the planned budget. If those figures are off, you must adjust accordingly.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Reporting is one of ways you communicate with your team and clients. While teams need more detailed information and clients are looking for broader data to check the project’s progress, both are essential tasks for the Account Executive. This documentation, along with all paperwork, must be collected, signed off on and archived by the end of a project, which provides a history that you can revisit when planning for a similar project in the future.

Qualifications

  • Have basic understanding of branding communications / advertising.

  • Have experience working on digital media campaigns such as fb, IG, DV360. (good to have)

  • Have experience working on brand asset production such as film, press, etc.

  • Business level speaking & writing skills in Japanese (good to have)

  • Collaborative and is open minded, willing to listen to others.

  • Quick and responsive.

  • Strong documenting skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • A challenger who is up to taking up difficult tasks given from the client.
